Review: BlackBerry Storm
Was it just your review unit or is this device really that shoddy?
As a Blackberry fan, this is downright embarassing. The lag is very noticeable in the video, but half of the time (especially in the media player) the UI isn't even responsive!
Are these guys totally unaware that the iPhone's been out for over a year?
Lots of cool ideas but this feels too rushed (especially looking at those menus) for what I thought was going to be a killer phone.

I actually got an opposite impression from what you did. Yes, the iphone has been out for over a year, but it wasn't perfect when it was first released either. No recent phone I have purchased was perfect either.
We are now dealing with complex smart phones that are more computer than anything now.
The Storm was expected late this summer, but has been delayed and the OS is more of an adaptation of current blackberrys...I don't feel it was rushed, but I know it will have it's issues upon release. I have been monitoring several BB sites and this is by no means a half-ass phone.
Hopefully RIM will be working like crazy (unlike Palm did with my Treo 700p) to get updates out fast

Watch the Phonescoop video (or even the January Apple Keynote of the pre-production iPhone) side by side with the Storm video. The iPhone was and still is by no means perfect, but in terms of execution the two videos speak for themselves.
