If you didn't think the iPhone was worth $600.00

You should not have purchased it. I bought it at $600.00 because I felt it was well worth it- and it was- this is the most satisfying phone I've ever used.

I've spent $600.00 on crap phones (HTC Apache, anyone?) promising all sorts of functionality that it didn't deliver. That was a waste of money- it wasn't a $600.00 product.

The iPhone delivered its promise. I'd be more PO'd if I had spent $500.00 on some under-engineered POS from HTC (that video of the Touch on Youtube is priceless) to "save my money."

Times have changed. Apple was obviously going to release a touch-screen iPod priced similarly to the outgoing model, and Apple can't charge a $300.00 premium just so it can make calls, so obviously the price was going to come do...

bluecoyote-You have just written the best review I have ever seen on here. Yes, the iphone was worth $600, but i think the price drop was because of the new ipod touch. Great review, I totally agree with you.

Bravo! Bravo!! I agree - that was one great review! I have not blinked since I purchased mine and have no plans on going back to a Motorola or Blackberry!

What's it like typing on the iPhone? Compared to the Blackberry??? Though I don't have any experience withe either I would guess it would be easier typing on a Blackberry.

I'd say it has learning curve is similar to Suretype, but the end result is a bit more rewarding. If you give it a week, it'll be second nature. (And it's worlds better than most of the thumboards out there.)

I actually came from a Sprint Blackberry (8703e, and before it owned a 7130e) , and it's a matter of preference. I actually loved my Blackberry and think highly of them.

You're comparing the iPhone to a Blackberry? The Blackberry is a business tool, the iPhone is a toy. There is no comparison.

You are wrong- a comparison is actually valid, and one is not more "suitable" for business than the other, rather, it's about what your business needs. The Blackberry is strong in email, whereas the iPhone's email client is middling. In contrast, the iPhone's web browser is the most powerful one on any mobile device and can log into just about all corporate web databases, the Blackberry (and most smartphones in general) can not.

The iPhone also scores points for having the only decent PDF viewer on a phone I've seen.

I agree with everything you said. But to me the point is not that the Iphone is not worth 600, but wouldn't you have rather paid 400 for the same device?

That's my thing, a lot of iphone users are acting like 200 dollars is no big deal.

And lay off HTC, i can't speak for the Apache, but i got the Mogul and i love it! 😁

Of course I would have rather paid $400.00 for the same device! I'd like to pay $200.00 for the same device, too, and if I wait long enough, it'll be down that low.

Word of advice to all who purchase technology: buy it when you need it.
