MetroPCS Makes Offer On Leap Wireless
Does it matter?

If metro does buy leap this is going to be a historic mile stone in the cellphone industry. The FCC will approve such a merger WHY?( att and Cingular did it.) Metro needs leap to stay alive, build its network without worring about cricket trouble! The big four so far been wallet killers and been charging way too much for cell phone service! see how competition happens? (ex. tmobile came out with that wifi talk all u want in your home, boost unlimited a MVNO, and many more interesting things to come) If you dont like metropcs or cricket then dont get them. continue to pay hundreds of unnecessary dollars for the same thing when u can get it way cheaper.

That's the theory. In practice, it doesn't quite work that way.
For example: A few months ago, a friend of mine was sitting on his couch, next to his girlfriend. He gets a text. He looks at it, and its from his girlfriend. He asks her about it. She looks at it and says, "Wow, I sent that to you two days ago." They were both on Metro PCS. This was pretty typical of their level of service. ☹️
About two months later, both of them dumped Metro and went with a Big 4 carrier. I tend to think of Metro and the like as a 'training wheels' ca...

Leap owns Cricket, the other unlimited calling company. This should be very interesting as the combined company could be a bigger threat to the "Big 4" as Cricket already allows unlimited calling when you travel to any market it serves. I'm not sure if that's the case with Metro tho. Is it possible that the combined company will allow unlimited to all their markets? If so, this will be a problem with the "Big 4"
A combined Metro-Cricket carrier would still be only 6 million subscribers, i.e. one-tenth the size of Verizon or ATT.
I don't think they're exactly shaking in their boots.
Still, competition is good, and a combined company would likely be stronger. Seems like a strong move o...

I don't know much about Leap, but I know MetroPOS. Would this actually make a difference on their network? (And I mean that seriously, as sarcastic as it may.)
This is a misconception based on Metro's past.
Their network is more than capable in Florida, and a very good alternative to the majors.
