actually Sprint was suppose to be at the 95% back in 2005, and they are still not at that goal today. i guess they don't care about the lives of their customers eh? 🙄

If their customers care, they can buy new phones.

if it's only 135000 customers, many of those are most likiely elderly and people on analog systems, who don't want to get into a new contract, and/or won't upgrade because "their phone works just fine" and don't see a need for "any of those newfangled gadgets that the new phones have."

and I can guarantee verizon is even not 100%, because they still have people turning in Motorola Star-tacs at the one behind me and one of their custys even asked me if i can get him a battery for his that still works

Mostly it is people who have old phones and they won't switch to a newer model.
Sprint is just now beginning to get aggressive on upgrades/retention. They have a large block of customers out of contract.
U.S. Cellular took it in the shorts and offered phones without contract extension to those customers and let them know their old phone would be retired if they did not switch.

it's just interesting how cingular, at&t, t-mobile and verizon had no problems meeting it TWO YEARS ago. you have these excuses about elderly people and such, so are you saying elderly people aren't on these carriers? 🤣

When I used to work in a cell phone kiosk selling Sprint/Nextel, T-Mobile & cingular. Anytime a customer would upgrade for Sprint their phone was always broken in some way.

Sprint customers are stubborn and will not upgrade until their phone is falling to pieces. I would always get cingular customers that would want to upgrade all the time. Then when we could do upgrades for T-Mobile they would want to upgrade too, but not them Sprint customers unless they were completely incapable of using their phones.
