Actually, many vendors are nervous that Qualcomm is getting involved with Wimax because of their OFDM related patent that they recently acquired because of the recent purchases and deals. Look for them to enforce these patents.

nextel18 is probably right. qualcomm has acquired flarion and a few other companies to gain control over patents critical to wimax (and also to ANY 4G technology - LTE and UMB included). we'll see if they can actually enforce these patents. if they can, i foresee some anti-monopoly suits coming down the pipe. especially since these are new patents qualcomm acquired, not anything based on CDMA

Yea. They obviously will enforce some kind of patent deal whether they will be charging many of little remains to be seen. It also could be bundled or any other method. Obviously, the heat is on Qualcomm, so it could force them to negotiate to the terms that they might not like. Look for them to be purchasing more of Wimax and OFDM/A patent companies, and making licensing deals.

Qualcomm has their hands in everything.
