was this just a stock pic, or did it come directly from the FCC filing?

Also, can you guys confirm that it has a higher capacity battery than the original (that was the rumor, anyway).

just to vent: now that they have an 8Gb version in the pipes (that looks awesome in black BTW) this looks like yesterdays lunch

i was in shock regarding the front facing camera too. maybe now that cingular has video sharing they see the front facing camera as a benefit?

also we checked the manual and there's absolutely no reference about what size battery is included. i wish we could confirm it was larger, but we can't (yet)

thanx for the quick reply, as always!

judging by the pix they posted @ engadgetmobile, it sure looks like it uses the extended battery (i hate searching the FCC website)

You can always by a second battery, I did a search on accesories, but this isn't a flip, I would have to have a case to protect the phone!
And I came across a desktop charger that displays that phone very nice!

I really hope this handset can handle 4gb microSD cards, that's super important to me!
Handsets that can handle 4gb cards are relatively recent.

I'm really hoping that AT&T will launch this BEFORE the end of the year!!!

in the words of the Symbian Guru, the thought of an AT&T branded N95 is nausiating 😛

BTW, it'll handle 4gb, but you'd be better off buying 3 x 2Gb cards these days 😉

with all due respect to apple, i don't really like the iphone. its nice and everything, but still not the perfect phone. i think that nokia will have the perfect phone first. i hope anyways. and by perfect i mean that there are no extra downloads ota or otherwise that are needed for proper running. just clean smooth sailing

Why do you say I'd be better off getting 3 2gig cards? Isn't it easier to put a whole butch of stuff on one 4gig card, than trying to figure out what is on which card?
Are you saying this because of the processors in the current handsets? Does it take too long for a memory card as large as 4gigs to load?

And why do you say an AT&T branded N95 would be nausiating??? Heck, they need better quality cameraphones, they really do!

I don't think he meant that AT&T shouldn't get this phone. It's more like the idea of having the AT&T logo printed on an N95 is nauseating. It actually makes me sick too. Certain phones should never have a carrier logo on them and this is one of them.

Personally, I don't think carriers have the right to rape manufacters of they're identitiy by putting they're own corporate logo on a handset, they have absolutley NO RIGHT to do that, they didn't make the phone!!!!!!!!!!!! 👿

I think carriers have way, too tight of a grip in the industry, they need to shut up, and let the manufacters make the best handsets they can.

Who cares who's name is on it, but I guess it makes you feel all so cool and superior to the rest of us who will just pick one up at at&t. As long as the phone works and maintains most of its features its fine by me. Never really bothered me that at&t or any other carrier put their media stuff on it.

Hey, thanks for inferring things from my statement that I never put there. It has nothing to do with feeling "cool and superior" to anyone. I just don't like having carrier logos on my phones. Similarly, I don't like having the name of the dealer branded on my car. It's a personal preference. I'm still allowed those, right?

with regards to the 4gb cards, i mean the price$$$ is too expensive. a 2gb microsd is like $20-$25, and 4gb is like $75. do the math 😉

with the branding, seeing at&t crap all over such a nice phone (not just the outside but the menu too) kinda ruins it for me

Ok, I get what you mean, quantity versus price, I just don't like thinking to myself, what is on which card, I just think it's so, so much more simpler to have like 2.5GB's dedicated to music, and 1.5GB's dedicated to pix, all on one card, it seems simpler to me.

Besides, there's always ebay, things are often cheaper on ebay.

i did a google search for a 4gb microsd... $75 IS ebay's price. VzW sells them for $100, but i didn't really see the 4gb in many places. Again, you can get 6-8gb's of storage for the same price. I'd wait 'til the 8gb cards come out, then prices will drop.

And when do you think 8gb microSD cards will start coming out??? I don't think that will be til next Summer, just my personal theory.

I just like having things on one card, that way I dont' have to wonder what's one which card. But I understand what your saying.

Heck, I remember when 1gb cards were $100, things have changed so, so much in the past 2yrs, not just memory cards, but USB flash drives also.

I'm curious how long it takes for a fully loaded 4gig card to load, when you put it in a handset, how long it takes for all the music to be available.

Hey Eric, I've got a ? This King of phones came out a little while ago, before 4gb capable phones started coming out, but now that this will be a NEW phone in the U.S., will it be able to handle 4gb microSD cards??? That's really, really important to me.

Also, yes, I watched your video for this phone, but I don't think you made any mention as to your thouhghts on the cameras zoom.
Is the zoom any good??? I understand it lacks optical, that's a damn shame.

Also, another thing I'd like to know about the N95, is I currently use an unlocked Sharp V903 on Cingular's network, and when I get a phone call/txt msg/or a missed call, the flash on my camera lights up, do you know if the Nokia N95 has such a feature??? I happen to like that featur...

I'm curious, how well is the N75 selling? The reason I ask is because if the N75 sells well, them perhaps AT&T will be more likely to pick more N-Series handsets!!! Is the N75 a popular handset? Autofocus makes a big difference too by the way, I'm really sick of these stupid pin hole fixed focus lens cameraphones, if I'm going to have a cameraphone, I want something I can actually use!!! That's why I have a 3.2mp cameraphone.

it sells well in my market because of the big face of it. people like big face phones around here. if i had more phone nerds like myself around then i belive it will sell better. not a whole bunch of people are buying this particular 3g phone becuase we aren't a 3g covered area yet. i believe that once people catch on to phone that can do more than talk and text then they will discover the awesomeness that is Nokia

Well, Cingular wasn't exactly timely about launching the N75, and so therefore I don't expect the same about the N95, but I do think it'll come to they're lineup, I do. I just think it's a matter of whether or not it'll come before the end of the year. I won't wait any later than February though, that's the limit of my parience, I'm definetl upgrading before then!

whoa i would never give my brother these phones. granted he's 22, but he has a job. i'm a little stingy he's gonna have to buy his own, i did tell him that i would get it for him with my discount though. he is one of those that rebuke technology. he doesn't even text. there is much work to do with that young one. i don't know how life was before texting. the sync is a good phone but in my experience has trashy reception unless you are almost right under a tower or at least in a clear line of sight for it. i had the first samsung ptt the d357 and it was horrible. another guy that i work with took the sync with him to missouri and was droppng calls the whole way. but still when in a good spot its a wonderful device

Yeah, it's so sad when people don't appreciate technology, heck, I use my phone as a camera, mp3 player, alarm clock, calculator.

I'm not a huge fan of txg messaging, but I do use it. My last girlfriend literally 80 percent of our communication was txts!!!!!!!!!
It pissed me off, it's rude, and immature, I felt like she was hiding behind her phone, instaed of being mature and having a phone conversation!!!!

When I tell people about all the features of the N75 they get downright excited about it and usually buy it. I've sold I don't even know how many. Unfortunately there's been a few people who were coming from RAZRs or something else and didn't take the time to learn the Symbian system before giving up and returning it. Most of them love it though. I am determined to turn people into Nokia lovers! lol

I have an original N95 and I can answer a couple of questions.

- The N95 does support 4gb cards.

- In my opinion the zoom is good, not great. And when I say that, I'm comparing it to standalone digital cameras, not other camera phones. I went to a show/concert the other day and I forgot to bring my camera with me so I used my N95 instead. Wide shots and close ups were almost as good as my Canon SD630. It's when you zoom in from far away that you really start to find the N95's limits.

- To my knowledge, the flash does not light up for texts or the like (unlike E-series phones that have a dedicated light for such things). Quite frankly, it really wouldn't make much sense. The flash is one one side of the phone while the screen i...

Thanks for answering my ?'s, here's a few more.
When you put a 4gb card in there, does it take a long time for the music to load? Can you use mp3's for the alarm clock, for example Van Halen Jump would be good for the alarm. Also, does the camera have a resizing feature, I like to resize pix for them to be optimized as wallpapers on my phone, and I can resize to make it fit the screen just right. Oh yeah, another ?, my current phone has like 5 different alarms, for different days, different times, and so on, can the N95 do that? Or just one alarm?

And again, thanks for answering my ?'s

- I've never come across any problems loading music. By the way, if you get this phone, make sure that you pay attention to when firmware upgrades come out. Upgrading your phone regularly keeps it working best.

- Unfortunately, the alarm is one of the things that Nokia needs to improve in S60 phones. The alarm cannot be set to go off at a certain time everyday. It needs to be set up each individual time. I'm not sure how they see this as making sense. Maybe because they feel people can set up alarms in the calender as well. I've gotten used to it, but I definitely see people being annoyed at having to remember to set their alarms every single night.

On the other hand, any sound file that can be used as a ring can also be used fo...

I'm curious, how do you go about updating the firmware, is there some quick link right on the phone, that you check for updates?

So about the memory card loading thing, when you put a 4gig card in there, and go to the music player, all the tracks are available immediatley?

I ask because my Sharp V903 takes upwards of a minute or more to load a 1gig card! Then again, my handset is well over 2yrs old, I just haven't had it for 2yrs, I've had it for 16 months, and I intend on upgrading between now, and February.
please let me know about the resizing feature, to use pix optimized for the phones screen..

Nokia periodically announces firmware upgrades on their site. When they do so, check to see what version they've just released. Then you can check what version you have on your phone by typing *#0000#. If you need to upgrade it, then just follow the instructions on the site.

As far as finding the music, it takes a few seconds but I've never had to wait for as long as a minute to access the music, or any files for that matter.

There is a cropping feature for pictures. It allows you to crop pictures into 4x6, 5x7, 8x10 (all in landscape or portrait) or you can crop manually.
