I think The Government should approve it provided Verizon sells off its GSM coverage. 😛

The only way it would be ruled a monopoly was if the FCC proved that their ownership of this new area PREVENTS other companies from competing in the same area.

Now that idea, I like!!! But it seems as though AT&T and evil Verizon are in a constant battle to be #1 between each other, and evil Verizon might view selling off the GSM towers to AT&T as helping them maintain #1.

I expect northern & central Vermont to be divested as Verizon already has the B side for that area, and there's possibly little competition there. Other than that, there's no overlap in the New England area with the A & B sides, but maybe in the PCS band though. Depending on competition in areas where Unicel might be only PCS & Verizon has...

its fair to verizon and sprint customers, with their roaming agreements that means both benefit from this purchase as far as i know...GREAT SUCCESS HIGH FIVE! lol and even if sprint doesnt benefit from this, they have put up quite a few more towers up maine.
