New Name for at&t

This phone is apparently coming soon to at&t. It will be named the TILT and go by they model number 8925.

Why does America get all the dumbed-down names for HTC? We loose names like Herald, Excaliber, and Kaiser for Dash, Wing, and Tilt? A true example of the American system giving in to the lowest common denominator...

because American business is purely number based 🙄 I'm pretty sure it sounds more professional saying "this is the new at&t 8925" than saying "hey everyone look at my new Tilt..."

So, if a number sounds more pro, why do they go with the names and not numbers? I know AT&T has a numbered HTC, but they said this Tilt is AT&T also.

Actually pretty much every carrier worldwide rebrands HTC phones... part of the point of using HTC is that the carriers can rebrand the entire thing, even the name and any trace of HTC. Pretty much it's only HTC themselves, and non-carriers that sell unlocked phones, that use the HTC names for them.
