Ok, that sounds very spiffy and such, but how is that going to kill the battery life on the device?

How is it going to kill the battery?

If a lit screen can kill the battery quick (surfing net, playing game, etc) I would assume a bright light projecting a image onto a nearby object (wall or such) it would kill it fast. The larger the image you want and to have it show up in a lit room requires a light of light.

The linked WSJ article quotes a 1 to 1.5 hour run time on a typical cell phone...not that you're going to use this feature continuously.

I'm sure the performance will improve as they develop the system further. First gen CDMA handsets like my Qualcomm Q phone didn't even have a talk time of 1.5 hours in real life.
