2004 Holiday Pre-Preview
Nothing new for Verizon?
There are also other phones in the pipeline, that just weren't new at this event, like the Motorola A840, V260/V265, the LG VX-8000 and VX-6100, and the Audiovox 9900 & 8910.
When Verizon made their big EV-DO announcement today, they said no EV-DO phones until 2005, because they want to wait until they have something closer to national coverage (and the testing thing - they mentioned that, too.) Anyway, I assume that means no VX-8000 this year.
Usually verizon phones receive fcc approval first and then go through 8-12 months of testing. if that's the case, then how does the n330 samsung hit the 2004 christmas season? is the n330 for the 2005 christmas season? 😢
Has the n330 gone through verizon testing and fcc approval yet? just wondering. thanks!
FCC approval isn't always a good guide to release dates. Carrier testing is usually done independently of FCC approval - they don't have to wait for the FCC to start their own tests. I've seen phones go on sale as quickly as four days after FCC approval.
wasn't aware of the approval and that the carrier does testing independent of fcc approval.
4 days? dang. sounds good! thanks again.
