With this new Wimax lauch sprint is now winning any race by a mile versus a few feet. Speed already has the largest coverage area both voice and data, Wimax is just a larger enhancement!!!!! 😁 better watch out competitor 👀

Much, if not most of Sprint's coverage is through other companies towers and networks. We call this a roaming agreement.

WiMax will only launch in 2 cities initially, am I right??? Heck, when Cingular launched they're 3G network they launched in 16 cities initially. I thought one of the benefits of WiMax is that it one antenna can cover like I think 32 miles, so another words, it doesn't take all that many antennas to cover a good size area, . . .especially Las Vegas.

Right, but Sprint will be the fist ones to deploy it on a national scale and they do everything in only a few markets first.. to makes sure it works.

When Cingular deployed 3G they were already years behind and were playing catch up. Verizon and Sprint had 100's of cities covered at that time.

Umm no. It is having three trial cities to test the network at the 4q of 2007. The cities are Balitmore, Chicago, and Wishington D.C. it will be launched in early 2008 in Detroit, Grand Rapids, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Minneapolis, Boston, Philadelphia, Providence, Dallas, Fort Worth, Denver, Portland, Salt Lake City, San Antonio and Seattle. And Sprint holds enough of the spectrum to cover 85% of the households in the top 100 U.S markets. This is not including the Clearwire deal.

So whats your point? WiMax will have completely new towers or adapters to broadcast this wireless service. No other carrier is offering WiMax. They will be way behind Sprint, and Data wise already are. How many channels does VW have for live TV? Can you watch PPV on VW? Do they offer Satellite Radio on their handsets? When do their nights start? Whose cheaper? Who has a larger voice coverage? And what new high-speed Internet are they releasing within the next 2 yrs?????

HUH? It was Sprint who built their network from the ground-up unlike Verizon who just bought a bunch of smaller competitors. And yes they all have roaming agreements now but Sprint has the largest native coverage and free roaming in all their new plans... Just thought I'd correct you.

Do not count out tmobile. They have very very deep pockets. More so then any other carrier. And Don't be surprised if they jump to 4g quickly!! Underestimating your competition is very very bad business and I bet none of the other carriers do that!
