Actually, the hardware is much more impressive in person. I was able to play with a model at the local T-Mobile store last week. I was expecting something approaching the Sidekick, but the device had a high quality feel to it and the OS was very responsive.

It still needs some things for me to want to run out and get it:

- Video playback and record
- DRM music support (mainly for Audible)
- Bluetooth or WiFi tethering

If it had those, I'd jump for it. Until then, I'll hold out for something better.

the hardware did look nicer in person but it was too bland. the texting or writting is fairly difficult on the phone but only if using letters on the right side due to the quickbuttons not moving. response is ok some pages the touch screen works better then others. the no pen/stylus/fingernail makes it slower to maneuver through. you have to user your index most of the time so its not great for that quick text or quick call. I'm waiting for the Samsung Behold t919 maybe its a better upgrade then the g1

lots of wasted space, no standard earphone jack jerky keyboard. they design the phone same size as Iphone but manage to make smaller screen. keyboard is not necessary you look like a kid playing with sidekick. no Microsoft exchange support
no internal memory. worst of all was made by HTC company that is famous for no upgrade or fixes and basically not caring for existing customers.
so any update will be available for new models and you get forgotten and punished supporting them.
apple updated everyone with $10.00 you got a new life for your g2 Iphone.and constantly get updated and fixes
with HTC will be dead. I wait for another manufacture.
