Hey, I've got a ? Other than this being an alternative choice to WinMo, what is beneficial about Linux??? What's special about it?

It's open and easy to develop for. It leaves room for creativity, something this segment needs, IMO.

So your saying it's more flexible software?

Here's another stupid ? for you, what does IMO mean?

Do you have a link to any screen shots of a computer running linux, so perhaps I can get an idea of what to expect?

This is a metacafe video that showcases Vista's new graphical capabilities against those of Linux.

Of course, you shouldn't expect that directly on the phone, but other than the bad music, it's a good comparison (and Linux is generally much faster, more efficient, more options, and more secure than proprietary systems such as WINBLOWS (Windows) systems).

Here's another ? for you. I don't know if your qualified to make an opinion on this, but I've heard from someone that Windows has way, way, way too much code.

Perhaps it having so, so much code is why it's not as fast, not as reliable, and so on, and so on.

What do you think about this opinion.

Thank you for the link.

Well, it's uncomplicated. User friendly. Developer friendly. Robust. Powerful. And you'll be able to develop on the platform just the way you want.

It's about damn time.

So it's super customizable?

Isn't the RAZR2 or one of the variations of it, going to have a Linux OS?

I believe Motorola is migrating to a Linux based platform, but that doesn't mean that absolutely everything will be open to developers.

Linux is beneficial because it is open source. Being open source, there is no copyright, source code is available, and anyone with know-how can change the system as they see fit without having to worry about copyright, royalties, or patents.

Hmmm, perhaps someday in the not too distant future, likely people who are currently in elementary school, and middle school, modifying code, and programming linux will be "common place". . .in the not too distant future.

Maybe there'll be businesses where you can bring a SmartPhone in and say I want mine to do this, and I want mine to do that. And for a service fee. They'll make it happen.

Perhaps software will become more dynamic, and USER FRIENDLY.

I look forward to learning MORE about linux.
Thanks for the info, and thanks for not making fun of me, like some IMMATURE people on this forum.
