I couldn't imagine this coming to at&t. Besides a 3G BB for at&t is expected round the end of the year.

Maybe they will ditch the Curve, and either way, they have the 8100 and 8800 now, why wouldn't they have a Curve and WiFi?

TMO is definitely getting the Curve. It's just a matter of when. If RIM follows the trend, whatever phone the FCC approved now that has wi-fi will release sometime in the next couple months, and T-Mobile is scheduled to get their first smartphone with UMA in the fall. If its not a UMA Curve for T-Mobile, I'm a monkey's uncle.

You think it is a better Curve and not the WiFi? Either would be cool...

I think I would rather have a smartphone with UMA than with regular wi-fi for data. I've got a pearl right now, and I don't need much more. A 3.5mm jack, stereo bluetooth, 2mp camera, AND unlimited calls worldwide over wi-fi... yeah, I think that would cover me.

The Curve comes out for T-Mobile in late August, not October.

I have been told by store reps to expect the Blackberry WiFi in the next few months. Maybe, they will launch the Curve only online as they did (originally) with the 8800 with no plans to launch it in the stores. Either way, I have feeling Hotspot at Home is not doing too well. T-Mobile is offering any existing customer to upgrade to either of their hotspot at home phones for the maximum discount price, even if they upgraded only a few weeks ago. So anyone can pay fifty bucks and walk out with a brand new hotspot phone (under this special promotion). And they can even get the router free after rebate. So that being said, it sounds like the launch hasn't brought them as much hoopla as they had hoped would surround hotspot at home. Now I pray t...

They chose a bad time to launch it nationally, when the iPhone was being launched. Waiting a few weeks would have let them have their 15 minutes of fame.

Agree HotSpot@home is the future:

However Tmobile botched the launch because:

- they didn't promote it as improving coverage, which is the #1 issue people have with tmo
- they got a little greedy on the pricing. $5 cheaper would have gotten more attention vs Vonage, etc.
- no decent phones or PDA's at launch.
- did it around iPhone hoopla as mentioned earlier
- Go to their website and it's hard to find HotSpot@home info. Duh, gotta promote it folks.

I hope the BlackBerry with UMA/wifi will help them jumpstart HotSpot@home... it will solve a ton of my problems coverage wise.

this is the 8820 and yes it's coming to at&t. it's been in the hands of the engineers for testing for a while now. look for it sometime in aug/sept. the 3g bb you're speaking of won't show up until '08. 😁

Do you think they'll roll it out around the time of the Sammy T639?
