Verizon Rolls Out Unlimited Plans, Mobile Email

I don't get it.

Is this really new? I thought like ATT that they had an unlimited internet feature for $20.00, and unlimited messaging for $20.00. So, how is this any different than just putting those two features together? 😕

The difference, from what I can gather, is that all of these items will be bundled together as a rate plan instead of a feature add-on. This means a great deal to the consumer, because to sign up for such a plan w/ Verizon it reqires a 2-year contract for the rate plan. With at&t, the text and data are features, and therefore non-contractual. If you are already w/ Verizon and want to switch to this plan, get a pen ready cuz it's two year contract time. 😢

Actually the difference is you also get navigation included which is normally an additional $9.99. Not that great of a deal unless you were planning on getting all of that anyways. It's only a $10 savings.

The biggest difference will be in the family plans and that is where Verizon is putting there major efforts.

If you got a single line at 39.99 and added the 20 messaging bundle then added Vcast for 15.00 and email for 5 and Vnav for 10 your total cost is 89.99 so bundling it only save you 10 dollars.

If you have a 5 line family plan though the savings are huge. 700 minute family plan plus 3 lines costs 99.96, add messaging to each phone you range from 50 to 100 for all 5 phones, add vcast to all 5 phones you pay 75 dollars, email for all 5 is 25 and vnaz is 50 for all 5 totaling 349.96 and if you bundle it you pay 169.99 for a 5 line family plan bundled for a savings of 180 dollars per month.

Nope, it sure as hell isn't.

It's 1 yr contract time from the date you change your plan, meaning if you are still in the first year of your contract, there is NO extension. And before anyone says it, no this does NOT change your phone upgrade date 😉

FWIW, as a VZW rep these new plans don't excite me too much. I think they're ok, and you get what you pay for here too... just that I don't think it will be too wildly popular, at least at first.

I would assume that the biggest benefit is going to be to indirect dealers where instead of getting paid on a $39.99 + data they will get paid for a $79.99 rate plan. Maybe Verizon is trying to make up for giving the shaft to dealers for the past 5+ years... 😉

I would much rather make the comission off the data features vs the higher rate plan, we would definatly come out ahead on features vs plan

Oh. I have not sold Verizon in a couple years. I guess then maybe it's a way for Verizon to CONTINUE to stick it to their indirect dealer! 🙄

Yep, that's exactly right. When the VZW higher ups got together to discuss the creation of bundling all these data features into a price plan, the sole motivation behind it was to screw those damn indirect dealers 🙄

As a direct rep, I would MUCH rather get the higher tier than lower tier + data add ons. At least they aren't screwing their own reps over 🤣

So than as a VZW dealer, do you make more off of a $79.99 plan or $39.99 plan w/ $40 in features?

Payout wise it's really a wash, but chargeback wise this is a huge bonus.

As and inderect rep, this is just one more nail in my coffin. VZW hasn't even been able to tell us how they plan on paying out for the Select plans (not a good sign) and now they are rolling out an all inclusive bundle that has the to potential to cut my data commissions by up to $30 per sale.
