AT&T Buys Dobson Communications
Are Dobson customer's going to lose their rate plans when we go with AT&T
I know AT&T will not retain Cell One's statewide unlimited plans do to roaming. I will make sure I get some bonus minutes I don't think AT&T will do this.
The comprable plan is 1350 min plan for 79.99. 1500 for 50.00 do you see the problem that AT&T is going to come across. Any AT&T reps know if AT&T are going to make former Dobson customer give up their awesome plans. I don't care if they don't give me rollover I average 1000 minutes a month. What do you think are Cell One customer's going to lose...

But these are not national plans right? You should be alright but there's a chance you might not be able to upgrade with them. I'm sure we'll find out soon how this will all go down.
If I'm not mistaken, Cingular did away with all regional plan, making all of their plans national. I might still have a copy of the letter I received stating my previous Florida regional plan (which basically covered a few counties) would become a national plan at no extra charge, and the only difference I would notice is that I would not be charged roaming anywhere in the United States.

I know how you feel because I went through the same thing back then, as I had a thousand nationwide minutes with unlimited nights/weekends for 34.99, but that same rate plan through Dobson was nearly twice that.
Depending on how much time you have left on your contract, I would see about signing up for a new, and possibly longer, contract at your current rate be...

If the situation is if you upgrade you will need to change your rate plan to an AT&T plan. That will mean if I were to start my service with AT&T obviosly I would need a AT&T new phone.
Here is my question if I purchase an AT&T phone at retail cost and I refuse t change my rate plan to an AT&T plan would I be able to retain my Dobson rate plan?
Or since I would not be under contract with AT&T they can say I need to change my rate plan since AT&T would not have an obligation to fullfill any promises since I am out of contract?
I have a nation 160...
