They still can't compete with Sprint:

"Cingular's claim of the "Largest high-speed wireless data network in America"

From my information, 80% of Cingular's "high-speed" network is powered by its 2.5G EDGE network.
Sprint Mobile Broadband (400-700kbps) is 5 times faster than Cingular's EDGE (70-135kbps)
In terms of wireless broadband coverage, Sprint covers three times more people (153 million vs. 47 million), four times more cities (5,138 vs. 1.092) and five times more airports (486 vs. 95) than Cingular's broadband network, BroadbandConnect. "

Amen. It seems like there is a lot of Sprint bashing on these posts, but you have to give credit where credit is due. Not to mention better UI's and multi-media offerings - I have always been able to download my own ringers, mp3's etc. I have friends with Verizon who can't do anything close to what I can do (unless they pay a steep price for the VW content)... I'm sure this post will be followed by the old GSM vs. CDMA stand-by argument (yawn), but I have had Sprint for about 7 years and am very pleased - just my 2 cents.

At&t is referring to the its EDGE coverage as being the largest DATA network in particular. There are too many particulars in terms of who is the largest at anything anymore with wireless carriers.

Well, for the most part, the offerings of providers don't count on the technologies used...they only count on the delivery.

I don't know where you live, but I'm being taken care of in Las Vegas, check this link out! I've been with Cingular for 5 and a half years.

Too bad Sprint is the king of dropped calls and has the highest churn in the industry.

Actually get your facts right. Sprint has the least amount of returned calls to the same number within thirty seconds which institutes a dropped call. Cingular which has the most users has the fewest percentage which doesn't constitute an accurate rating. They also only test around 10% of their actual network. So before you say they are King look at the facts. I live in Wichita Falls, TX and there is a call center here and I still hear complaints from Cingular users about dropped calls. Thanks, Stoopered

Regardless of carrier, users will always complain of dropped calls.
