200 sms messages seems limited to me. That's why I don't use AT&T. They have good phones but their service and network coverage in the US seems crappy, especially in smaller towns.

It's not much, but here's why it's a good deal.

$39.99 for 450 minutes
$19.99 MEdia max (unlimited media net and 200 text)

total
$59.98

The iPhone plan is basically that package, but it's a PDA, so everyone else with a PDA will pay at least $20 more for the same services.

It's not a PDA.

Also, you can use the Media Max plans with any PDA... they just don't tell you that. I work for them and I use Media Max with every PDA I get.

If someone were to go into your account and see that you had the wrong plan on the phone they could change your plan automatically, or worse, remove it and you would be charged overage for the data.

It all boils down to the fact that you are indeed on the wrong plan. But I know, the MEdia Plans do work just fine. So if you can get away with it, good job.

A customers rate plan can't be changed w/o the customer's authorization!!!

When it comes to txt msgs, I think Cingular is by far the worst.

there's a change going into the system soon that will limit what SOCs you have to choose from when adding to an account based on the IMEI. so these days where you use the wrong plan are numbered.

Just to let you know the media Max plan does have a cap to it. Smart phones and below are typically not capable of reaching its max. If your customer is a heavy user and you apply this to a pda they will be slightly upset if they get a bill in the mail for a few hundred. They can call customer care and they will revert the charges, and put them on the correct plan. However if this happens enough it will blow back on ur dealer code and you can be termed casue of it. Just a little heads up

The way the reps explained it to me about another phone, if a phone has a "real" Web browser on it and can "handle" more graphics and other Webby stuff, then you have to get a PDA data plan. (which is all a load of hooey, anyway). So, if this were any other phone, they would require you to pick one of the higher priced plan. But they know you wouldn't want to do that after you went dang-near broke buying the phone. ๐Ÿ˜

That's the exact plan I have right now.The one with the total of $59.98
So,if I get the Iphone, does it mean I dont have to change my plan since they are basically the same?

It's not a MEdia Plan for the iPhone. You will have to change it so you can support VVM, but it's the same price point then so what?

There's gonna be a lot of haters running rampant about this. But hey, if you don't like it - don't effin buy it!

looks like your the "hater"

I do give steve jobs credit...

He could sell a Honda with a spoiler for the price of a Ferrari.

A. People WILL buy
B. The ones that do are getting ripped off
C. They are trying to hard to buy their way into looking cool

I just cant wait for 6 months after the hype has finally died and they realize what they bought into.

What are you trying to show in those links to my posts? I've posted a lot more hateful things then that on these forums, I would think you could come up with something better.

Like, those two posts are just links to nothing... GDI WTF ARE YOU TRYING TO PROVE

Show me a post where I said "people are just haters". Stop putting words in my mouth.

Singling out iPhone haters and saying everyone is a hater are two different things.

Don't act like you know me.

With Alltel, for $80 per month you can get 900 minutes, unlimited nights, weekends, mobile to mobile, My Circle, AND unlimited data (text, picture, video, IM, and web), on a national plan, as well as getting a phone with EVDO, stereo Bluetooth, expandable memory, Mp3 player, etc., and not have to spend more than $200 on a phone that does much of the same things.

Though I have to admit that I like the presentation of the iPhone, I just don't think it's worth it.

i agree. my plan with alltel is the following: $49.99 for 1000 national minutes with nights and weekends and mobile to mobile and $19.99 for unlimited text and data. with such a high retail price and limited on what it can actually do, cingular should revamp the plans to at least compete

compete with who? alltel? you got to be kidding me. our only comp is VZW. thats it. no other carrier in the US comes close to our numbers. it is the same with VZW ๐Ÿคฃ

even after the merger, cingular barely edges verizon when it comes to total base. let's be real here. plugging the phone as the next great thing does not dismiss the network or specs of the phone.

i could care less. cause all the sales reps that work for other carriers wish they could be in my postion. it doesn't matter if they sale. it will drive traffic to our stores and away from others. selling is based on numbers. more people that come in, the better my COMMISSION CHECK! anyone in sales knows that ๐Ÿคฃ

Well put. VZW is our only competition, with Sprint/Nextel sort of in the shadow (with a net loss, can't really consider them true competition, but they do have a lot of subscribers).

Alltel, T-mobile, Cricket, Metro, SunCom... we aren't really too worried ๐Ÿ˜

This is affordable? Man AT&T has u kids dooped. I was hesitant to leave AT&T because I thought it would get better, seeing these plans confirms that AT&T is still behind Verizon and Sprint on the data curve. Good luck! ๐Ÿคฃ

are you kidding me? how can you sit here and think these plans are good? for what visual voice mail? I pay 50 now for 900 min plus a extra 39 for unlimited data, and text messages... no way i would give up that for these crazy plans.. PLUS pay 600 for the phone. Forget it i will wait for the new razor!

Well, an AT&T plan for 900 minutes is 59.99. Adding unlimited data and text messaging to that is 39.99... presuming the device isn't a PDA or smartphone. The price for such a thing on the iphone is... 59.99, plus 20 for iphone data (already incorporated into the new customer plans), and 20.00 for unlimited text. Net difference... 0.01.

It's not what everyone would consider spectacular, but it's not horrible. Relative to any other consume AT&T rate plan, it's certainly alright.
