There isn't any mail "on" the device, it supports any pop, imap email. It does offer free imap Yahoo email as well.

Well, Gmail is better anyway. I have an account with pretty much every e-mail provider and Gmail gives you POP access for FREE.

I'm not sure if you can say that Gmail is better then imap Yahoo.

Remember this would remove all ads from Yahoo's messages and inbox.

Ultimately, many prefer Yahoo's new mail style.

Furthermore, Imap email is always better then Pop email.

I prefer POP actually. IMAP never seems to work right. POP is very stable and dependable. Plus, I can read my POP emails even when I'm offline.

Why does every University in the US use Imap for their email service then?

Why would you be reading email offline? Doesn't that defeat the purpose?

Every device I have is always connected to a network ... be it home wireless, school wifi, at&t's network.

Where I am, broadband is not available, so I have to have dial up. Therefore, if I want to look up an old e-mail in Microsoft Outlook for reference, I can without dialing up.

I don't know why Universities do, but I know that AOL mail was orginally IMAP, but now is POP.

.mac is $99 a year and it uses imap as well.

My apologies for still using dial-up

AGREED! I just can't wait till companies like Sprint or AT&T get there 4g network up and running and 3g covers the old 2g so in large cities you get a 10mbit connection and a 2.5mbit in the "boonies"
