AT&T Launches Its Video Share Service

(1) People complain that Cingular needs to finish rolling out 3G before adding "a novel feature"--Firstly, Cingular is continuing to roll out the network. What the hell do you expect them to do, not launch a new feature until you get your 3G coverage? The purpose of a business is to make money: many things to make people go "ohhh" = an opportunity for money to be made. Also, some places are more important than others, thus not a big priority to rush out the 3g; San Francisco or New York does not have the same importance as , Wyoming.

(2) Video Sharing makes no sense-- Most simply, don't get it if you don't want it. Also, it makes perfect sense. There are limits in all companies on the amount a video message can be. If you want to show som...

agreed, but i'm sort of surprised that some mid-major cities still don't have it (i.e. Pittsburgh). we have 3G in cleveland, and that's all that matters to me really - but still, kinda surprising.

AT&T has to keep coming up with new innovative ideas to keep ahead of Verizon/Sprint/T-Mobile/etc.

Announcements like this will satisfy some of those customers in areas that are already have 3G. Plus it will show the stock holders that "we're moving forward, see??" Then they can also go back to the phone manufacturers that "yes we're moving forward with our plans, send us those new phones that you keep distributing in Asia/Europe!"

(at least that's what i hope they're doing!)
