I HAVE TO GET MY HANDS ON THIS!

I'm a long time BB fan/user. I actually made the mistake of getting AT&T service so I could enjoy an iPhone, but amazingly [read: predictably] AT&T service sucks! The iPhone is cool enough and I still use it as a very expensive iPod Touch, but VZW's service is unbeatable.

I cannot wait for this phone to be released! My birthday is Nov. 8--I can't think of a better bday present!

COME ON VERIZON & RIM... LET US HAVE IT ALREADY!!

You can't really judge AT&T's service with an iPhone. They've had nothing but problems with those things... 🙄

Sure you can. The iPhone is on AT&T, and the service sucks. If it is such a problem (I for one know mine is) then they should resolve the problems ASAP. But what are they doing? Brushing it off like we are all lying. The average consumer doesn't care what the problem is, they just know the signal sucks. If AT&T was dumb enough to let a "poor" device be sold, that was SUPPOSED to be their "flagship" device, they DESERVE all the negative PR they get and all the customers they lose that go back to Verizon. 🤣

I agree with that, but I also think it's a hit to Apple. AT&T could (I don't know if they do this or not) tell the customers that complain about it that it's Apple's fault and split the blame.

That is a good point as well. Honestly I would be apologetic when customers called or came into a store to complain, but then direct them to Apple as they are at fault. See, I don't want to go too off topic here, but that's the problem. Americans are so indoctrinated into going to their mobile provider because of the business model that is set. The mobile provider controls the sale of services and devices from beginning to end, and thus makes the consumer believe they (the mobile provider) are responsible for every equipment related issue. If someone is dropping calls due to faulty equipment, who do they call? If the phone breaks, where do they go? And that is my point of saying even if the iPhone is at fault, it's really AT&T's fault. The a...

For clarification, isn't it MOSTLY AT&T's fault? I've been under the impression that AT&T or any other wireless carrier has standards that a phone has to meet before it is released. If a phone is properly tested and meets the minimum requirements, it's sold through the carrier to the public. Otherwise, it would mean that Apple put out a bunch of faulty iPhones.

So, which is it?
-AT&T's minimum requirements are too low, so now they're paying the price.
-Apple sent out bad devices that wasn't up to par.

You're right--carriers are supposed to test the phones to make sure they work well on their networks before they even accept a phone from a developer. That's exactly why VZW doesn't mass release phones--they're picky. I realize that now.

Back to the Storm... is it out yet? LOL

I know people in the South Bend Indiana area that are using "other" AT&T phones and have very crappy service. I look everytime when it's time to renew and I can't find another service that even comes close. I just got back from a 1,000 mile plus motorcycle trip this weekend and one guy had AT&T one other guy and myself had Verizon and we were the only one's getting any service in northern MI. I wonder why? Maybe AT&T is to worried about there "world service" then the home land!

Read on the net today that VZ has a release date of Nov. 10th for the Storm. I'm thinking that might be true since they have been dragging out the release of this phone for over a month.

First saw on Ebay actually from a guy from MD so trusted that since I believe they're based there...then did Google seach of Blackberry Storm release date and everyone is posting mid November release date Nov 10th-16th. One site said it was delayed back in Sept 3-4 due to internal problems with the phone so VZ decided to fix them up.
