I'm still in shock about this picture.
I check a couple other pic's of the phone that were posted. Its is really on the unit shown at three angles.

For a little background knowledge:
Rogers is a Full GSM company in Canada, much like AT&T for you guys.

I still cant wrap my head around this. looking at the pic's, I see the EVDO network in the top right corner of the unit and a GSM 850/1900 wap browser (ROGERS)
UGH. . . so confused

Ok the new Storm is going to be available through bell Mobility and Telus in Canada. It is considered a world phone with GSM capabilities and it supposedly comes with a SIM card. Pretty much any phone with a SIM card will work on the Rogers Network IF you buy a ROGERS SIM card.

Don't know if this helps, but I work for Bell and it was officially announced yesterday that it was coming to Bell.

I'm anxious to hear the actual reviews of real users. I really want it, but I'm not going to spend my hard earned $$ on a glitchy phone (like the iPhone).

It's actually "Rogers Mail", and it's a user-created shortcut to someone's web mail. Since RIM is a Canadian company, that was simply the PR person's link to her personal email.

Like the iPhone, the Storm lets you re-arrange the touch buttons on the main menu, and create new buttons that are shortcuts to whatever you like, including specific web pages.

The Storm has nothing to do with Rogers.

Hmm, "mail" was the explanation given by the PR person, but looking closely at the full-res photos I have, it does seem to say "mall" instead. 😕

I really wouldn't read too much into it. It is just a user-created shortcut to a web page. There are myriad scenarios I can think of off the top of my head where a PR person or executive created that shortcut just as part of a demo (this is a demo unit after all.) I'd say it's unlikely it means anything concrete about the Storm and Rogers.

I assumed this aswell seeing as the unit is a
CDMA/GSM mix, much like the 8830

I just thought that Bell would be getting it before Rogers (and most likely will) because of the launch ot the BOLD

With the GSM SIM slot, does this mean that a U.S. T-Mobile or ATT SIM in-place would allow phone function on that account?

WHAT IT IS!

YOU CAN CHANGE THE NAME ON FOLDERS AND APPS!

It could be a Fav. saved for a Web Site, or anything!

IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ROGERS!
