Was that 5 years from GSM launch to complete TDMA shutdown?

Its amazing how long these things take. I wonder how long it will take sprint to shut down iden. I bet that'll be around 5 years.

Good point!

Really the only comment I have, is people who don't appreciate technology are depressing.

I'm speaking of people who don't upgrade, and have cell phones that are 5,6, and 7yrs OLD.

That sort of stuff is depressing.

But to lend credit to you, I've been with Cingular since January of 2002, and I have always had a GSM handset, my 1st handset was the Nokia 3390. I used to love to play Snake.

Given Sprint's churn problems, and the degrading quality of iDEN, I bet they could do it in three years if they let it happen organically. If they push, I bet they could in two, but I don't think they'd push because they'd probably lose those customers.

Customers of iDEN systems have some of the highest loyalty in the industry....but once PTT improves on other systems, those days are numbers.

For a company with 50 million customers....only 95% of minutes on GSM in march?! 99% currently?!

Thats a lot of hold outs.

Wells you have to "understand" why, most of those TDMA users who are holding out are because of the rate plans//

like $99.99 for unlimited minutes... but again, if you ask me, some people are just idiots, you may pay less, but you cant use it ..
