I don't see any of these for T-Mobile USA. All these crazy phones are for AT&T, with their 3G bands. The nice phones always go to AT&T and overseas carriers. I don't see how it would take so long to put My-Faves software on an SE phone, if they were bound for T-Mobile in the future. Plus, still no 3G 1700MHz band phones supported by SE.
...
Well TMo's 3G for 1700MHz is at least 6 months away from what I hear. The reason you do not see SE handsets on TMo USA goes back to some stupid feud they had a while back. My favs software is only a recent 'issue'...
My favs should be a network side thing or a bloody java download anyway. Total crap in the way it works now.

I asked cause, Phonescoop reported this year that SE is working on bringing phones to T-Mobile USA, but the only hold up is the My-Faves software. I don't see why it takes so long. Something tells me, that SE won't make a phone for T-Mobile USA whether it be all EDGE, or a 3G version til Q1 2008.
...
The MyFaves should definitely be a java thing (or purely a network setting). T-Mo does this in an effort to sway you from purchasing unlocked handsets (like the K850i).

Things like this are reasons carriers suck..
...
True - but us privileged few who are learned about the conveniences to GSM (using and programming your own carrier-free devices) can get around their shortcomings.
...
Oh I agree. I cannot see myself not having full access to my phone. Bluetooth [I would never go with verizon], web, java downloads, any ringtone I want, etc. I need control and I need it without paying my carrier. Instead I pay extra for an unlocked phone ;)
...
Which is why I'm switching to T-Mo 🙂 - I just wish Verizon's network wasn't so damn appealing... I literally get.service.everywhere.
...
They're not for AT&T - they're for european customers. If you want one, pick one up unlocked unbranded. (I never buy phones from the carrier, unlocked unbranded phones are not nearly as common or dumbed-down). You will have to give up MyFaves if you want an unbranded phone and pay more, but it's worth it.
The lack of T3 (1700) isn't a big deal because it's hardly been rolled out in any markets. Once 1700 is more widespread, there will be more phones that support it.

not now
let's see what'll come in Q1 2008
sonyericsson is surely coming back, after T610, just sit and see
...
But who wants to wait that long...
...
I don't want to wait too
currently I do a test drive of slingbox over EDGE, I get 180kbps max at home, and I expect 600kbps over HSDPA
perhaps I have to purchase a nokia UMTS1700 3G phone for a time being
