Verizon isn't too far behind; however, their text plans on regular accounts is better than at&t/Cingular,

Like just VZW's whole mentality when it comes to their customers. I had Verzion for a while (Since before they were Airtouch), and everything was great UNTIL they became Verizon. Once that happend, they started to basically not care about their customers.

An example: I live in San Diego, CA. (reletively close to the Mexico border) When I was with Verizon, I used to get some spam text messages from some Mexican company telling me that I had won a free cruise trip to Cabo San Lucas, or something like that. It wouldn't have been a problem if it was a coupl;e of days a month that this happend, but, it ended up happening several times a day, sometimes as many as 3 times. Now, at .10/msg received, 3 messages/day = $9.30/month extra for ...

So that's fair, let's just assume that this means VZW doesn't care about any of their customers at all. With more new cust additions and less churn than all the other carries, this clearly makes sense.. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Oh and let me add:

VZW CAN indeed disable or "block" texting.

And I guess you have missed all the lawsuits Verizon Wireless has been filing against text spammers... clearly they don't care at all, as evidenced by their agressive litigation against said spammers ๐Ÿ™„

Well... with ATT being by far the largest carrier in the US (what is it now like 70 Million?) and more people leaving it's biggest competition every day... VZW.... ;)

I dunno, every time I've had a minor billing issue or anything like that, ATT CS goes out of their way to help me... Been soooooo happy with them.

You obviously haven't seen any quartly statements from the carries. AT&T is HARDLY the largest carrier, 62 million vs 60 million for VZW, but quarter after quater the past few years that lead has steadily been shrinking.

You do know what churn is right? VZW has been losing much few customers than AT&T has... do some research bud, it might help next time so you don't sound so... oblivious? ๐Ÿ˜‰

At times, I think they both suck {Because I use Verizon and work for [and have used] at&t}. Neither one gives a rat's ass about the customers, just $$!

I was replying mainly in bewilderment that news of AT&T addind a few options for prepay customers would elicit such strong chest-thumping fanboyism ๐Ÿ˜•
