HTC is trying to copy the iphone screen technology, hopefully all other pocket pc manufacturers will follow suit, it's a great idea, and it also gives me another thing to throw in my apple loving buddies faces! I'll sell the iphone, but personally, my 8525 kicks the iphones @ss in ALMOST every way. HTC is one of the most innovative manufacturers that I have ever seen, I'm always impressed with the level of quality that their products bring to the table.....ok, sorry, I'm done now 🙄

Please the iphone commercials show more charater and features than the HTC will ever have. Oh it has windows mobile 6. So while you are always restarting your phone i'll be on my Iphone listening to my itunes surfing the web, and text messaging before you HTC even restarts.

June 29th it all begins.

I notice making phone calls wasn't on your list. Probably an accurate statement.

iphone has some nice innovation, but if manufacturers who have been making phones for 20 years can't get it right with half their new phones, what chance does apple have right out of the gate?

i bet it'll be an awesome music and video player though.

First off no phone none zero have amazing quality everywhere and anywhere in this world. I don't expect anyphone to work well as a phone. Our cell phone companies are too busy doing other things to make phones sound better. I Honestly wouldn't bet against apple. The Ipod is the sleakest and Easiest thing to use. This is just more of an extension. Jobs makes products that just work and people can use. I don't care if you are a hacker or know more about computers than G-D. Anyone wants to push one button to make things work and always work. That is why apple and the Iphone will suceed.
P.S it will be an awesome video player and music player.
As well for viewing the web on wifi

What a lame statement.

Apple has a history of stuff that didn't work right. Most recent would be Apple TV. There was the Apple III computer, introduced in 1980, which was prone to overheating, followed three years later by an acrobatic flop called the Lisa. (Apple would eventually bury thousands of them in a landfill to get a tax credit.) Jobs' Next computer was another technological marvel, but it couldn't find a market until Apple bought the company and re-purposed its operating system for the Mac. And the gorgeous Power Mac Cube, a Lucite box that looked like a fancy tissue-box holder, was "put on ice" in 2001, a year after its launch.

As for viewing web on wifi, no thanks, I'll stick with EVDO.

See you in 21st century

Please you are comparing today with 1980 give me a break dude. Microsoft sucked or everything sucked in the 1980'. I'm sure your car ran really great in the 1980's as well too. Apple t.v is not a failure no way. It's just begining. Oh wait you probably like things that don't work and you have to fix them all the time, or having 5 virus protections for your computer, and oh yeah evdo is not that fast i have Verizon. Wifi is actually faster than evdo.

I think i see your yugo outside yup that would be yours and that 80's mobile

i think his point about evdo is that you don't have to search around for a coffee house to use it. And the speed of wifi is dependent on the internet its connected to where as EVDO is consistently fast. not that it makes a huge difference on pda's (including the iphone) as the processor speeds are so much slower than desktop/laptops that it couldn't utilize the high speed anyway.

the truth of the matter is that the first of anything usualy sucks. It takes refinement over time to properly tune a new tech or piece of equipment. I have no doubt that apple can make a killer phone/pda/mp3 player. None at all. I just don't think they're going to release it on june 29th (of this year anyway)

Hey man, I never said that the iphone wasn't cool, I think it's pretty sweet, but I'm just tired of all my apple fanboy buddies saying "dude, the iphone does this, and the iphone does that" and me saying "ya, my phone does the same thing" and them saying "yea, but it's apple".....ok, great, who cares?

I hear ya. I think it's that it' made by apple, and that's the difference. Fanboys are loyal, there are phones that may do the same things, but probably won't look as well, or do it with a touch of a button, and as well always work. I have a palm Treo 700p, and man that bogs down it crashes it's slow. Oh wasn't trying to be rude. I'm enjoying the conversation.

htc is a good company with good products. in asia under different names they've been really booming.
and to be honest, i can't necessarily say great things about my history with 1st gen apple products. one thing i will note is that the htc touch will probably not be as feature laden as the iphone but!!! it'll definately be cheaper if not more successful as a phone.

How do you know that your 8525 kicks @$$? Have you field tested it more then a week? If not, your "opinion" is heresay, and not too valid...

Well, I've had my 8525 for about 6 or 7 months now, had an 8125 for about a year before that, and have tried out the 3125 and 2125 for about a month apeice also. I also have worked for AT&T for almost 3 years and have been in the wireless business for over 7 years and sold countless HTC products. No heresay, I seem to think that I know HTC products pretty well, and have been really happy with all of them, with the exception of the 2125. I wouldn't post a comment unless I thought it was valid, I don't just spew crap without the testing to back it up.

I also suspected this would happen, but am incredible disappointed instead. Touch-screens are the worst. This is particularly true when trying to operate on "buttons" much smaller than a finger. I wasn't surprised by the lack of buttons on the iphone because apple has always been on a crusade to eliminate buttons in their quest to appeal to the user with the motor control of an chimpanzee, but I really hoped that the Windows mobile community would avoid it. There's really no beating a tactile qwerty keyboard. I almost never pull the stylus out on my 8125 in favor of the keyboard and softkeys. I was watching the commercial for the iphone on TV today, and when typing the finger took up half the keyboard. Perhaps Apple has worked some min...
