Okay, it's only a few weeks from launch; Apple has laid out details for months now on what the price and specs will be on the iPhone. We've even seen commercials citing two year contracts are required for this unsubsidized phone. However, where's at&t? Where are the details on price plans, and contract information? Speculation is rampant and while you have to get contracts to buy an subsidized phone, there are always details on prices without the contract attached to any other phone. How will this play with the unsubsidized iPhone? Will the data/voice plans be subsidized therefore the requirement for the 2 year contract? I think at&t is dropping the ball here and the lack of communication is reflecting poorly on their part so far.

because its not been released yet ๐Ÿ˜Ž

there's no rule saying all details need to be given so far in advance of the release date

and if you go with another carrier, go ahead and see if they're any different about giving info about devices and plans that haven't been released yet ๐Ÿ˜‰

in summary, you're being unfair ๐Ÿคจ

This isn't like the release of a new Moto phone where Motorola has announced the phone but the US carrier has yet to plaster it on their web site.

I see a very brief summary of the features and a box asking for your e-mail so they can give more details when the time comes.

Sounds pretty standard to me.

Why does it need a different plan from the other phones? What makes the phone different is how it works? Network wise it works just like any other phone, so will you need the same thing as if you get the 8525. You will be able to pick from their standard plans, and add on a Unlimited PDA connect w/ 1500 messages for 39.99.

So why would a contract be required if the plans are the same but the iPhone is not subsidized (per Apple)? Remember that the reasoning for the two year contract on the 8525 is that you're getting the phone for a better price in exchange for the two year contract.

Well.... it looks like Apple has pulled the line at the bottom of the ads indicating that a two year contract is required. Hmmm... ๐Ÿ™‚
