Disclaimer: the following refers to the situation in the US. The Europe and Asia are light years ahead of us.

1. As we all know EDGE is at the end of its life cycle. I've had EDGE for just about 2 years now. The WCDMA is the current technology, and HSDPA is starting to ramp up.

Thank you for the response. I guess I'll wait for the next version to come out. Hopefully they will throw in a card reader too.

Anyways Bigbmc26, are you at liberty to tell us how you know this insider information? If not, I understand your desire to remain anonymous (and probably keep your job).

i work with rf engineering for att. it's not really a big secret the jobs will be bring other apple products to our network next year. but i would wait for the next version too. i just can't see paying over $200 for a 2g device with a built in battery! 😕 to me, it seems like a step back not forward. my 8525 does more than the iphone and it was cheaper.

Awesome find Ldiablo0010, the URL didn't quite work but not hard to figure out. Here is another URL: http://www.itwire.com.au/content/view/12499/1 103

"ITWire is reporting that the Taiwanese manufacturer Quanta has seemingly confirmed a second generation of the Apple iPhone. Another report referenced by the article suggests the new model could come with a different case design. 'Quanta and Apple already enjoy a strong relationship, with Quanta building both MacBooks and iPods for Apple to sell worldwide, although Foxconn (Hon Hai Precision Industry) is reported to be building the first batch of iPhones due to arrive in the US market by the end of June. Reports suggest Quanta ...
