there's nothing here that's really new. i don't think that it will be a very valuable tool for anything more than what they've already mentioned here... camera phones and cars. i don't think that it will ever fully penetrate into any professional markets, because we already have cameras that will operate at much lower levels of light.

...what phone now takes a high quality picture with just 1 lux at? and if you have ever had a nokia you'd realize how great it is that finally a way for your phone to take decent night pictures!! (i have the 6126)

don't get me wrong. i agree that this will be very useful for camera phones, i just don't think it will be usable in a professional setting.
