Do you know if it was a verizon wireless direct store, or indirect? Business's in the area would love to get there hands on these. We live in Western Colorado, The hub for the Gas and Oil industry. See what you can find out, if possible.

yes its been out for 3 weeks, it launched 5/1/07, I'm not sure what phonescoop is thinking with that article. Its smaller than the type V and they added bluetooth but the camera isn't as high a resolution and its not VCast. It retails with 2yr agreement at $149.99 after $50 mail in rebate... Come on phonescoop get your head out the sand... 3 weeks that phone has been out... thats just... wow

It still hasn't been announced, it's not for sale anywhere on the web, and no other news sites I've seen have covered it.

Other people are saying it's not supposed to launch until June 1... where did you see that it launched on May 1?

We're not clairvoyant. If no ones tips us off (I'm looking at you) how should we be expected to know about it?

Verizon's latest brochure under their "Phones & More" section features it prominently for the last month. What I assume has happened is that maybe they have released it regionally, and certain areas haven't even heard of it yet.

Confirmed. When I recieved my new "collateral" the phone is featured in the "Phones" section of the brochure.

The same thing happened with the LGV9900. It was shown on the back page of an old brochure on text messaging, LONG before it was released or for that matter even really talked about.

I was told by verizon sales that the reception is not great with gzone. Any reports from users and knowledge on improvements on new model coming out?

no there has been many users on hofo who somehow obtained them early through corp stores, and it was also on ebay before verizon pulled the plug on that too.

no, the type S is already in most stores but isn't supposed to be for sale until 6/1 at 199.99

and the pictures don't do it justice. It's much uglier than that, and the fact they took all the other features out just to add bluetooth isn't worth the size difference

A co-worker of mine got the type S. After all the reading I did...just before he got his...I RAN to my local verizon store to make sure i got a type V for me and my girlfriend before the V was no longer available. After a side by side comparison...I like the type V WAY better. The larger higher qualiy screen on the V is more important to me than bluetooth. Now if the W42 was offered...I would have waited and got that.
