I read that the Blackberry Curve is also going to support 4GB cards.

That sure would be nice if handsets were out on the market by the end of this year that can support 8GB cards, I'm trying to hold off until AT&T launches mobile tv to upgrade, supposedly 4th qtr this year.

I currently have the Starcomm 6700 for Alltel. I have a 4G card. However, I did have to re-format it to FAT from FAT32. With faster write speeds this only means one thing. Cell phone camera's will be able to have faster shutter speeds and more MP per picture. Making them much bigger in size.
Sounds like soon, you will be able to have a phone/I-Pod(MP3 player)/digital camera all in one.
Just a thought

Think about it. If you don't buy a digital camera, you'll be able to spend that much on the phone.
If you had a phone that could take picture's with the quality of your DC. Store more pics with all of your songs.
If you could send pics from your DC wouldn't that be their goal?
So again, just combine your DC,phone, and IPOD.
Thats what an 8G card could bring.
The write speeds will need to be faster that 6MPS. But thats what this is leading too.

Just more random thoughts will I work.

Actually I live by that concept!!! I own the Sharp V903, and it is my primary DC, it has a 3.2MP auto-focus camera, plus 2x optical zoom, and it works plenty fine. So yeah, I live by the idea that you suggest is unfolding, music, and pix, on one memory card, I just really, really hope that when I decide to upgrade and get a new handset, that it is 4GB microSD capable, I really do, I'm trying to be reasonable, and am not expecting any 8GB microSD card capable handsets in the too, too soon future. But 2010 will certainly be an exciting world for the mobile phone.

Cingular does, and has offered Mobile TV for some time now. But as far as I know there are no phones that support anything over a 2GB card, but that will change sooner than later.

Ah, your probably speaking of MobiTv, that's nit ----REAL---- MobileTv, like what Verizon has, where you can change the channel with less than 2 second lag time, no buffering!!!!

I'm talking about real MobileTv, MediaFlo!!!
I heard Cingular is suppose to be launching it 4qtr this year.
