cancelled?
are we sure this phone is still comming? It was approved back in November and has yet to be seen on any Samsung nomenclature (even the unnanounced a517 and a737 are).
...
What do you mean? 😕
Are you sure you know what "nomenclature" means? 😉
...
all I'm trying to say is that Samsung usually leaks upcomming phones in one way or another, the a617 hasn't been, so either it's top secret and scheduled for later in the year, or it's cancelled like the t529
...
All we are saying is that you should look up words first before you use them.
...
actually, he's not that off with his use of "nomenclature" which simply means a "set of names" 😳
ps- unless of course i'm mistaken too 😉

Personally, I can care less if this handsets gets cancelled, and never reaches Cingular's lineup.
This handset is going backwards!

I can see both points, if the manufacturer shows the entire roadmap to all Cingular employees, and for some reason, there is fall out and the phone never sees the light of day, you will have some very upset employees. I can also see why the Cingular/new ATT/old ATT execs are tight lipped because they know manufacturers never hold timelines and by the time a certain handset comes out, the market for that phone may have passed. All of these manufacturers can play the "lets see if Cingular will take it" approach, and if it does not work out, they simply lose the R and D money, but at least they don't risk launching a phone that will not sell, has issues that surface later, etc...
...
My only point is that it's pretty easy to spot Samsungs phones months in advance before they reach the carrier. And I'm not talking about the FCC. there are a wide variety of places on the internet, but strangly the a617 is completely without any of this information.
