All a/c adapters?

So do all A/C adapters draw electricity when plugged in? - even if the device they are attached to is off or they aren't attached to any device at all?

I have also heard that TVs use electricity when they are plugged in - they are in a standby state that allows them to be turned on by the remote control. If I remember correctly, some TVs in Europe allow you to turn the TV totally off so that it isn't using any electricity, but you also can't turn it on by the remote.

Guys, lets save some energy by unpluging at least our cellphone chargers from wall, since we are cellphone fans. Respect.

Its my electricity bill!

I'm sure it is much less annoying than running out of fossil fuels and not having any power at all.

And they're not asking you to do this to save money (although that would be a benefit to you); they're asking you to do this to save energy for everyone and future generations.

Yea, all wall transformers use a small amount of electricity, some more than others.
I have seen a couple that get quite warm even when their load isn't plugged in. What i did was locate all my chargers in one place on a plug strip, so my cell phone charger, AA/AAA charger, laptop adapters, etc I turn off when I leave in the morning and turn back on late at night so they run for 12 hours instead of 24 hours. The other thing I'm working on is converting everything to run from 12v to eliminate all the transformers and then power by one single efficient switching supply.
