Also, Japan, which also has an excellent network has a FOMA network, a CDMA variant.

Not saying GSM or CDMA is better, they both have engineering trade offs.
With that being said, I hope this comes to Sprint right after they implement R-UIM
In South Korea all operators use both CDMA 1XEVDO and WCDMA.
In Japan, KDDI uses CDMA 1X EVDO and NTTDocomo uses FOMA(WCDMA variant).
is sprint implementing R-UIM for its CDMA network?????
As far as Sprint and R-UIM, IN MY DREAMS. Seriously, I doubt the company that wont even activate a phone that doesnt say "Sprint" on it will ever implement R-UIM, but man if they did I would be in heaven!
Why wouldn't a company want to do that? I mean one of the huge features (to me, at least) about GSM is the SIM swapping. Wouldn't you think Sprint would want to say "look, faster speeds, better voice AND you can do what they do?!". Seems like a clear business decision to me.
Curious to see what you think jfjhong
and get hooked up with the new sky phone.(import)
