Looks like the BB is set to lauch with us, at&t, on May 24. From what I have read it will be 3G, but will not have GPS built in. PTT is unknown. It would make sense that it has different features from the 8800 since they just lauched it, which by the way, is the best "business" type phone one can buy. I expect big things from this one.

Jimbob-Hey from the classes I have taken from learning edge for this phone, it should have gps just like the 8800.

I was hoping it would. I was looking on the RIM website and it said you would need a GPS receiver to use navigation, but that it comes with Balckberry Maps. If it does have GPS, this would be the mother of all phones!!!!

Go to www.blackberrycurve.com and look under wireless modem. It mentions that you can connect at broadband speeds. That should mean 3G.

EDGE is garbage, and in MY definition, NOT broadband! Heck, I barely even consider 400-700-kbps broadband, speeds that are mbps and above, that is broadband!!!

We'll see I suppose. A blackberry rep told us that they would have a 3G device coming out around June. I assumed this was it. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed.

guys, EDGE is not 3G, or "broadband". It has been around for years now. If you have or used a blackberry 8700, and call that 3G, and broadband, then yes, this one will be the same. lol. Should be a great device though.

Hey sorry I thought I saw this would have gps from my training I took on this bb, but I must be wrong. BUT yes, it will be 3G. And no, Cingular reps should not refer to edge as broadband-not even close.
