SDMA uses GSM MAP core.
Think of it this way...

GSM (GPRS) --> GSM (EDGE/EGPRS) --> UMTS --> UMTS/HSPA (HSDPA/HSUPA) --> LTE (SDMA) or LTE MIMO on GSM core
