Blame the manufacturer
I don't understand! it brothers me! Why should Wireless companies get blamed. Why can't these laws go after the manufacturers, They are the ones who mass produce the defective phones.
...
Exactly. If you have a problem with your car's engine, you don't sue the government for providing crappy roads to drive on.
...
No, I bring it back to the dealership who are agents for the manufacturers, and if they don't make good, then the government will step in.
...
Dealerships are not agents for manufacturers. They are franchises. Verizon is not an LG franchise. I agree that you bring it back to where you bought it, but if there's a defect with it, and its past their return policy, you're dealing with the manufacturer a that point, as you should be.
Perhaps it was an errant comparison on my part. However, the point is still valid. We reap that which we sow. Wireless providers have customer churn due to crappy phones. They shouldn't have extra financial losses as well. That burden should be carried by the device manufacturers.

True, but if the radio goes out in my Car I will take it back to the Car dealer, not the Radio manufacturer.
...
True in this instance, but that's because that part came with the car as an OEM part. Now if you are going to go that route, if the LCD goes out in my Motorola phone, I should go back to the actual manufacture of that LCD and not Motorola. You are starting to get rediculous!
I agree that the Manufacturer should take the brundt of this law, not the carrier. The carrier is supplying the phone but they *clearly* don't make it.
The carriers have been making it easier to the customer for handset issues by dealing directly with the customer instead the customer to the manufacturer.
