Verizon and May 14??

Its says Verizon will offer this phone to business customers May 14. What about regular customers? Why would they only offer it to business customers when they can make more money and sales if it was offeredto everyone.

That's easy: Money.

Business accounts = large accounts. If you were a company with 100 employees all on one company account with Verizon, wouldn't you expect a little special treatment for giving VZW so much business? Similarly, if you were Verizon, wouldn't your priority be the $10,000/month accounts first, then the $100/month accounts second?

That's why it's very typical for business customers to get first crack at phones, especially when it's a business-oriented device. It's not just Verizon; it's the same with most carriers.

Verizon always releases their "business" phones two weeks earlier to the corporate accounts. I don't mind. They used to now sell their business phones to regular customers. This saves me from having to file for a corporation just to get their good phones. The Blackberry is really the best phone out there for business people or those who want to be connected all the time (i.e. me).

I just got the 8703 in Feb but will upgrade to the 8830 just because I want the latest and don't want to have the 8703 for the rest of my contract. They were slow getting the 8703 on their network but fast getting the 8830. I might wait for the Pearl. Didn't think i would like it but was on a date the other night and she had one. Very slick. Slimmer and fits be...
