Sprint plus SIM card equals win.

Three full months behind Verizon, but Sprint gives customers that about-damn-time that everyone's looking for.

Sprint has offered SIM cards with your Sprint phone number for overseas use for many years. It's not new.

Yeah, I know about the usage of a SIM card for international plans. I'm just saying that the REGULAR usage of a SIM card for Sprint is a bit overdue.

Ugh, nevermind. Just now read the other thread. I assumed this meant that Sprint would finally be getting a domestic GSM phone.

Wasn't Sprint originally GSM, but then sold the physical network to Omnipoint or VoiceStream? I think I remember hearing that.

Why would a company go backwards?? Why go from CDMA back to GSM?? Makes no sense to me!! So i know that they would never go back to a domestic GSM. And yes sprint sold thier gsm to voicestream which in most areas are now gone.

sprint is not going back to gsm, it is absolutely nowhere in that article, they are providing sim cards for overseas travel that has your sprint number for convienience. the gsm standard is evolving dont forget, hsdpa/umts is the CDMA version of GSM as the current most popular form of gsm is TDMA based, CDMA is just a generic term for a form of digital voice multiplexing, the standard CDMA2000 1xrtt, and 1xEVDO are just standards developed by qualcomm that use a CDMA air interface.
