doesn't Telstra have soley an 850 HSDPA network? wouldn't this fit better there, with Euro 3G roaming capabilities? Or vise-versa: Euro 3G with Aussie 3G roaming?

this phone definitely *would* work on telstra, in fact it does seem optimized for it, but its initial release will be in europe and the middle east. it would make sense to bring the 6120 to telstra, as well as allowing "international roaming" for europeans on its better coverage 850 network. i guess it offers two roaming bonuses for the price of one, for europeans who get it - better 3G service in OZ and random 3G in the states.

Yes, a phone with WCDMA 850 - but not WCDMA 1900 - is almost certainly designed with Telstra in mind.

Officially, they're only announcing it for Europe / Asia for now, but it's pretty clear Nokia designed this for Telstra's network, for roaming at least, if not their actual phone lineup.

For a number of reasons, there's not much sense in adding WCDMA 850 to a European phone just for roaming on American 3G networks.
