With this phone https://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p =988
You get more with this unlimited messaging plan and 5.99 mobile web then you do now with a sidekick. EVDO, Video Playback, this might keyword! might affect Sidekick Sales big time!

Very good point on the price of the phone. We will see what t-mobile response is.

The Sidekick works differently than other devices as well. I uses a "relay service" so the info and the OS are virtually on the device. Basically, all of your games, emails, messages, contacts, ringtones and pictures are constantly being backed up on what they call the "Danger Server." The main advantage is that if you ever lose your device or if it's stolen, all your info is wiped clean of that Sidekick once the device is shut off and "relayed" back to a new device once you get one. There was an interesting story about this a while back at http://www.evanwashere.com/StolenSidekick/ where it helped them actually catch the thieves that stole the device. Just one of the things that makes the Sidekick attractive....and the enV won't work in Eur...

I don't think it will affect sidekick sales at all. with the "new" unlimited messaging verizon now offers, with the internet package (will the 5.99 mobile web be "unlimited"?), thats still a total of $26/mo. The sidekick's package includes unlimited messaging (yes, really unlimited), and unlimited internet for $20.

Not sure what the price of the enV will be, but i'm sure its more expensive than $200 ($250 with $50 MIR with 2-year contract).

So unless you got moneybags lying around, sure, go for the enV. but most of America doesn't, so the sidekick should be fine.

verizon is a much better network than t-mobile nationwide...so any additional cost for the env could be worth. plus, some people might prefer the env's form factor over the sidekick.

Just my 2 cents

The prices of the EnV and the Sidekick are exactly the same $250 for a two year with a $50 MIR.

The diffrence, as always comes in price of the plans..

Sidekick with 600 minutes and unlimited data: 69.98 a month (39.99+29.99 I honestly don't remember if you get a discount by having a voice plan on the sidekick or not..)

EnV with 450 minutes, Unlimited text and Unlimited Data:
74.99 (59.99 Am Choice Select: and VCast)

So the choice is your $5 and 150 minutes less with a larger network and stuff like videos or you can go cheap and save $60.00 a year. It's up to the customer.

If the next EnV is a media flow phone it would most definetly be a sidekick killer.

How about you do this:

Sidekick with 300 minutes and any five people to talk to for free at anytime and unlimited data: 59.99 a month (39.99+19.99)

Compare 60.00 (rounding for simp...
