Who is this Targeting?

I would hope that this isn't to target a younger demographic because the Sidekick fan base don't get much younger.
I guess my question/concern is why strip out the most basic of functions at this point to cut cost? why not release a slightly updated version of the SKII. Kind of like the Treo 650/680 idea. Slightly refresh the product, keep the price low. Not make it cheap > make it suck.

At first I thought this was a good idea and part of the target market would be the hearing impaired as many of them us Sidekicks but have no need for BlueTooth or MP3's but I've no idea why they didn't include a camera, even a simple VGA one. Kind of a bummer. 🤨

It's for broke people/ people who don't need the everything but still want a cool looking phone. And what people don't realize is how big Sidekicks are for the deaf community. Why do deaf people need bluetooth? Or a 12 year old, for that matter. The USB/EDGE would have been nice, if you get an internet phone, it should download at a reasonable speed...

good call on the bluetooth access for the hearing impaired.

does the current bluetooth accessiblity allow for data transfer between the SideKick and computer files? that would be something value-added if for exchanging pic files between device and pc.
