Thank God!
All you need is phones where you can block out certain features (texting, internet, etc). If your kids needs a migo, and can't handle all 9 numbers on a cell phone, then they prolly shouldnt have a cell phone. Kids now a days are pretty tech savvy and I think a 10-12 year old can handle a phone with all nine numbers.
Just give parents control over minutes, texts, and internet and I think everyone will be happy.

And one more thing... WTF does your 5 year old need a phone for anyway? Their 5. They shouldnt be without someone watching them, who is responsible to get hold of the parent who SHOULD have a phone!

The other thing to consider is that you have to sign a 2 yr contract to get these phones. A migo might be ok for a 12 year old, but they'll be the laughing stock of their peers when they're 14. Plus, those phones are notoriously easy to hack and kids can figure it out. I think phones like the 3450 are a better choice--even the new SLVR for Verizon is chaperone-kid capable, so everyone's happy--the kid gets a cool phone and the parent gets another tool to help keep track of the kid.

One thing to remember is that the Migo was marketed toward the 5-10 year old market. I have seen a few people mention 10-12 year olds, well no smart sales rep would have sold that age range a Migo anyway. I think the Migo had a good niche market and they should have something else to replace it.

yeah the replacement is the cheapest phone available for verizon with a full keypad!
