I thought Boost was gonna be phased out?
Wasn't the Boost network putting a strain on spectrums or something? I don't remember the whole story, I just remember hearing that even though Boost is Sprint/Nextel's biggest earner, that they would have to scale back growth or something. Anyone?

Yea, Boost is putting a strain on the IDEN side on the voice part of the system, but obviously the Walkie Talkie doesn’t use up a lot of resources. That is why they stopped doing a lot of the promotions and other things on the Boost side, and are trying to make people use more of the DC than the voice. Another reason why they are coming out with those dual CDMA/IDEN type devices. The next step is to come up with those devices and use it on the Boost/Sprint networks. If the trials are successful, you will see this happening.
Boost will not be phased out because it is one of the segments that are actually growing and providing positive free cash flow.

Correct. But if you are not selling data you will be in pain soon.
...
Wow someone actually agrees with me that data in the key to growth in the future.
...
Soon everything will be data based. So yes data is the key to everything and why wimax is so important. The capacity and latency of that system will allow voip in the future. Rev A has low latency but I think sprint is sick of paying huge royalties to qualcomm for everything they do.
...
Yes I know this but everyone has to pay my beloved Qualcomm, and Sprint might actually be paying royalties for their Mobile Wimax as OFDM/OFDMA that QUALCOMM bought from Flarion are especially patents of WIMAX.
