Discouraged

I must say that I am becoming increasingly discouraged by the lag that CDMA devices go through before they hit the shelves. We have heard rumors and seen pictures of the 5800 and 6800 for months. To what end, now we are being told third quarter. And we have to wait for WinMo6 to be on some of the devices first!

ARGGGGGGGG.

News Flash!! Current pdas offered on American Carriers are significantly out of date. The most current Pocket PC phone is the dang Treo 700WX. ANd it is just a dang refresh!

Let's get these in stores quickly. Lets see some Blackberry Pearls for CDMA. Let's see a variety of Smartphones, not just the Q and a Pantech phone you can not even get in a store! And a new Pocket PC? Where. the i760... when? THes...

While I understand your frustration, most of the cell phone yammering world is using GSM which is one reason that these things take so long to make for CDMA. And even then, only 2 of the 4 major U.S. providers offer CDMA which is an older technology to begin with, though it's been revised many times.

CDMA may not be as prevalent in the cellular world today, but that doesn't change the fact that Verizon's CDMA cellular service is the highest rated carrier in every major market in this country. You can check the facts out for yourself at consumerreports.com. (Not some, but every single major market!) And yeah their service might not have the most cost competitive packages available, especially when it comes to data. But once again, Verizon and Sprints EVDO capability blows away, any and every competitors best efforts at data transmission capability. So if your an undercapitalized teenie-bopper that just wants to text all day and can't afford the extra couple of bucks for superior professional service, then stick with GSM. But for thos...

This time next year T-Mobile will've skipped 3G entirely and have WiMax. After switching from VZW, to my surprise, I not only am experiencing comparable service in my area (NYC) but better reception and sound quality, hands down, then with VZW, which I agree, is solid as can be.

yes it may be true what they say about verizon and there cdma technology and what they say on the consumer reports. But what they dont tell you is that amoung the top carrier there are only three that meet any standard to be considering. 1st would have to be Cingular, 2nd would be verizon and 3rd would be either tmobile or sprint. they dont tell you that all the consumer reports are bias depending on the sponsorship. did you now that verizon pays the reporters over 1 billion dollars a year so that they give perfect reports that help boost
reputation. The only carrier in the industry at this point in time that doesn't offer donation is Cingular. and because of it we have not seen such a positive respones in the consumer reports. if you now ...

😳

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

no seriously

"fewest dropped calls"

that term not only took a hell of a lot of sponsorship, but they had to pay a really bad writer to come up with that fiction.

A typical case of 13 year-old tech wannabes' spewing volumes of pure fictional garbage in the effort to look intelligent. Except that they can't spell or punctuate sentences in the english language.
The one serious drawback about this website is the droves of immature teens that swarm to this site and pontificate on these matters as if they truly understand them. Sad and pathetic.

In the English language we capitalize English when it is used in a sentance. Also, half of your rant is not in complete sentences. Think before you speak my friend. P.S. don't use words like pontificate.

You're not alone, and HTC is aware and concerned as well.

During the HTC presentation I went to yesterday, they specifically said that their top priority for the Americas in 2007 is bringing more "parity" to GSM vs. CDMA products and the timing that they launch.

HTC America is a new division of the company. They didn't exist a couple of years ago, and they have been hiring domestically like crazy in the past year. We should start to see the fruits of that in 2007 with accelerated US launches, including CDMA especially.
