too many people unfortunately, the manufacturers know that we(americans) dont care for advanced features, i would say the majority of us, thats why we get the medicre phones.

is it really that hard of a concept to believe that it lowers the cost of the phone and makes it more appealing to more people? not everybody want or needs a high dollar phone. it keeps cost low. it's not rocket science here.
