Sprint, Verizon Come to Qualcomm's Defense
The end of CDMA?
***If this petition gets denied***
I guess Sprint and Verizon now have to switch their networks to GSM 🙄 🤣 That's what they get for continuing to devote to a technology that will never be as widely available as GSM.
🙄
For Sprint to go back to GSM is like America going back to outdoor plumbing.
UMTS is based on a Qualcomm technology.
I have a GSM phone and it's okay. I also have a CDMA phone and it is outstanding. Look for UMTS/HSDPA and CDMA to merge in upcoming generations.

What is qualicom?

No. they will not use another chipset from another company because Qualcomm is the best when it comes to CDMA and everyone knows that. Just look at their market share.
What is qualicom?
they already do use some phones that do not have the qualcomm chip set. moto uses its own chip set (which sucks) and nokia always used its own chip set (while not the best could hold its own against the qualcomm)
qualcomm is the best no one will argue that but they are not exclusive. not even with sprint.
They aren’t exclusive with Sprint? Please give some examples.
Further corroboration (applies to the CDMA Q as well)

GSM versions of the RAZR use Freescale (formerly Motorola) chipsets.
It will be a lot of money to switch from CDMA to GSM especially with over 100 million+ customers, and do not forget about the United States Government who relies heavily on Qualcomm’s chips, especially in the CDMA platform.
Motorola, LG, and Kyocera do not want the ban either.
A ban will not happen because it harms too many customers.
Remember the potential Rimm or Blackberry ban in this country and it was settled for more money; that is what will happen.
