I've been hopping around a lot of major cities and selecting the VCast TV coverage area and have yet to see any coverage. Perhaps they haven't finished updating their maps?
I think we should wait until March 1st.
...
after thoroughly searching for coverage from coast to coast i couldn't find a thing. we have updated the story to reflect this.
...
I wonder what the prices are for the phones and the service along with if any treo's or palm phones will be available with this service
...
palm has not unveiled any mobile TV enabled treos, however there is a windows mobile phone with mobile tv made by HTC. it is gsm, not cdma, and it uses a different mobile TV standard (dvb-h), but it's the closest you can come to a smartphone with tv in the states so far.
...
When will the VX9400 specs be available to be viewed?
...
palm does have one phone with tv capabilites but its not for verizon.
...
which phone is that? i don't know of any palms with mobile tv reception. this is different than streaming tv over the data network like they offer on most their current models.
...
My mistake, i thought you were just talking about tv not the mobile tv.
...
Or just get a slingbox

All the questions will be answered March 1st. The map will not show coverage until the service launches (due to propreitary information) The 9400 is not set for launch yet but when it does...it'll be worth it. The Samsung will be decently priced and the LG, due to it's features, will be a little more (think in the range of 150-200 between them). The service cost is exactly what most people will expect, base packages, slightly more options and then vcast and tv. Because this is not broadcasting on VZW's network the coverage will not be the same as EVDO at launch. It's up to MediaFLO to update and they are pushing to launch as much as they can when they can. Don't be surprised if major markets are left out at launch but they will be filled in...

With reguards to the bottom of this post, a service can't be launched w/o devices to support the service.
...
In markets where the service is available, the phones will launch. The phones MAY not launch immediately in areas where MediaFlo doesn't have coverage
...
I know MediaFlo's network IS in Las Vega, because there were showings of the technology @ CES in the past couple years.

Samsung U620 full retail 319.99 1yr 249.99 2 yr 199.99 after 50.00 mail in rebate...media flow packages are as follows First up, it looks like VCAST TV will be offered in three flavors: Limited for $13 monthly, Basic for $15, and Select at $25. Limited will include CBS Mobile, NBC Mobile, NBC News, and Fox Mobile, while Basic (anyone a little confused with the naming convention here?) adds Comedy Central, ESPN, MTV Mobile, and Nickelodeon.
