If I were Helio or Amp'd, I'd feel very complimented. 🙂

It's nice to finally see some real competition though. They are finally realizing what it's gonna take to gain and keep a "real" customer. Not the ones who switch just because, or because they don't like the phone. Now it will be truly who's got the best deal.

Yeah, but if I were them, I would already feel "hip", I wouldn't need PhoneScoop to tell me! But you are right, it's nice to see these "start-ups" move into the "serious contender" phase!

I liken this to ferrari saying, hey we should make our cars affordable so that everybody can have them! This is not a good idea for Sprint but I am sure they see it different. They are trying to find more activations without advancing their technology to do so.

I would agree with drqque, i like the value but dont cheapen yourself just to beat inferior startup company's!

Like who? Cricket and MetroPCS?

Unlimited everything on a nationwide network?

Sure you can get the same stuff from MetroPCS if you don't mind only having use of your phone in 6 cities.

True. I guess it's a question of what you really need. But spending $120 a month makes me cringe.

to tell you the truth people who have metro-PCS don't mind. people who have cricket don't mind either, if they did they would not have the service. you know not everyone travels out of the calling area of thier network, or some even get coverage from thier network in only a few places, but they are the places they travel to the most. regardless 120 bucks is still alot of money

$120 is not a lot of money for some people. I work in a corporate store and probably take about 20 payments a day and I would say at least half of those pay over $120 a month. If you're a heavy talker then you probably have a base plan of $79.99-$99.99 per month. Add $10 for unlimited texting, for the two carriers that have them. And add $15-$25 for a data plan. You're already there not to mention any others like insurance, overage, etc. This plan would help a lot of customers and would probably help them keep customers.

If you're THAT kind of talker, then yeah, I can understand putting everything under one umbrella which you're going to use every day.

But me? I talk about 400 minutes per...

which is why companies have more than one plan. not every plan fits every customer. i think this is very smart.

unlimited fits every customer, i just dont see why customers would pay 120 bucks for something that they can get cheaper elsewhere.

Well, sure, you can use MetroPCS for $35 bucks per month and yak all you want...but if you want to leave your immediate calling area, THAT's where you run into trouble.

WOW! I think you're on to something with this, who know that they have different plans for someone who uses 1500 anytime minutes as opposed to someone who uses 400. Would the cost be different as well? If so holy crap, thats brillant!!

The point is only one of the best 4 companies offers an unlimited minute plan and it's $200 a month and it's only for the minutes. This is a great idea and the other 3 good carriers will probably follow suite. Sorry to the smaller guys but this means trouble for you guys.

if ur talkin about the other top carriers, like cingy, vw, or tmobile then i think u may be wrong. cingy nor vw will never offer unlimited plans, maybe t-mobile...

You'd be surprised. Every carrier has followed another carrier with things that work. They might not, but if they start losing customers to sprint because of the plan they will eventually follow. Only time will tell though.

LOL that doesnt mean trouble for anyone, the plan isnt even available in all areas yet. And Sprint better fix all he dead spots in my area or they wont get any body switchin from the companie i work for to them. As it stands right now, that plan actually makes what we offer look that much better. Sprints plan doesnt cover text, picture mail or internt unlimited while our plans do.

Sprint will offer two Unlimited Access plans. The first offers unlimited voice calls, messaging, and on-phone browsing for $120 per month. A second adds unlimited data access on a PC as well, using the phone as a modem for $150 per month.

Did you not read the original news post?
