And Verizon will charge more for it and its stupid customers will pay it.
...
who cares about mediaflo... wimax is more promising and more functions like the tv grid like directtv has. you can keep your stinking media flo but once my internet is like 5-10 times faster then evdo yeah i see you in the finish line
...
Thats why all the Nextel/Sprint customers are SPRINTING to Verizon and Cingular....because Sprint is better? ha ha
...
i dont know about your area but my team and i and the other sprint nextel stand has noticed a very large increase from verizon/cingular/nextel to sprint, and im in shentel. reason why? analog roaming is great when your driving in country side pa and they get signal everywhere like cingular and verizon. and i prove it to them.
so before you give me the verizon or cingular is better then sprint, listen to this. i CAN force my phone to roaming if i need to(cingular cant) and when i do, it sez welcome to verizon wireless. and i say its verizon but at a cheaper rate. i really dont care what you have to say because ive noticed an increase in subscriptions here and shentel has noticed a sprint gain every quarter with this one being the largest. ...

Sprint was and probably still is loosing customers from nextel. With all the recent improvements in many areas this should start tapering off. Sprint has been bringing in customers the whole time on the CDMA side. I think sprint will start seeing better numbers with all the network improvements that have taken place around the country.
MediaFlo is not a huge deal right now. Sprint has plans to use WiMax for its own thing. They have enough spectrum to do pretty much what they want and how they want.
...
i highly agree on your whole post...
you dont even know how many nextel ports ive done to sprint 🤣
...
And whats awesome about Sprint Nextel is the fact that we've figured out how to keep our Nextel customers happy: PowerSource!
How many companies do YOU know that can give you superior call quality AND Nextel walkie-talkie?
Hmm??
I'm waiting.
Research it.
Oh thats right. JUST SPRINT.
I rest my case.
...
What research did you do that had both Sprint and superior call quality in the same sentence?
...
Anyone that has ever used a Sprint phone. YOu may have a few valid complaints on sprint's customer service, but the call quality is not one of them.
Sprint has more towers than any other carrier.
Although I do have a few complaints here and there, call quality isn't one of them.
They work so much better than my Cingular phone ever did. And I live in Atlanta, which is Cingular's home market.
...

My wife and I left Sprint because they had poor quality in Austin TX. I mean it was hit and miss - and our house was right inbetween two towers - but not actually in coverage. We could see the map and our area - and if we stood on one foot and wiggled our fingers we might have gotten coverage. Bah. I'll never go back.
...
Hey that very well may be true. All I can say, is when did you have service? Carriers are constantly adding new cell sites, and just because you were in a whole at one time, doesn't mean that they won't have coverage there in the next six months or next year.
Thats just the nature of the beast, wireless coverage is not everywhere, there are going to be wholes in every network.
All I'm saying is that you shouldn't rule a company out, just because at one time they were missing coverage at your house, things change. It's a very competitive industry, that is certainly not constant.
At any rate you could have bought an in-home repeater for about $125 that would have boosted your signal at your house.
...
langFeb 20, 2007, 3:48 PM
Or we could go with a company that provides great coverage where I live. Which is what we did.
...
How about you spell the word "holes" correctly? That'd be great.
...
I agree. I'm usually not a stickler about misspellings, but "whole" is kind of an antonym of "hole".

That is completely misleading! Cingular in fact, owns and operates the nation's most wireless towers on one technology. Sprint purchased Nextel and they still haven't even come close to matching the unified network infrastructure that Cingular owns! 47,000+ GSM cell sites while Sprint only lays claim to 26,000 CDMA. Anything else in the tower counts are completely incompatible and unintegrated iDen sites. Not worth much if you're expecting cov...

I would argue with you, but it will do no good. Your just wrong. I don't care if it is the same tech. as long as the phone can use it.
Alot of good those 47,000 GSM cell sites will do you, if your in a rural analog area since cingular is singal mode.
That being said I don't care about your opinion.
For me Sprint has worked much better.
...
Answer one question:
What good are "the most towers" doing a consumer if half operate as CDMA, half operate as iDen, and the majority of them overlap?
The answer is simple...very little. How does that make me wrong? 🤨
...
I agree. Sprint is not known for the most robust network in areas, it is reputed for having poor quality and poor signal. T-Mobile, by contrast, is touted for high quality, small coverage area, slow data speeds, but superior customer service.
And...if Sprint supposedly has the best network with most towers, why is its native coverage area so small?
...
That doesn't make much sense. In about a year, carriers will be allowed to turn off analog. I highly doubt they will keep it running for "roaming coverage" of other carriers. Sprint has never deployed analog towers, so none of that coverage can be touted as being its own.

Sprint may see better numbers with the technology improvment, but if they don't get on the ball with customer service to back it up, then T-Mobile and AT&T are gonna run them over.

Riddle me this, what will you due in bfe PA, when analog is removed from your network in the next few months? I hope your chargeback period is less than 120 days for the commission you made on all those unfortunate customers you hassled into buying Sprint.
...
TDMA roaming wont last too much longer as networks begin to turn them off after the FCC allows them to...
...
but keeps an established customer who liked it and still has capabilities on roaming on verizon with cheaper options
...
yeah no kidding, but Sprint is stupid because they could see which customers are using 50% + roaming and where they are and start putting p towers there to support them... I mean wouldn't you want to build towers where customers use your service?
No Sprint is dumb and they'd rather get rid of people to go to another company than support their customers and get better coverage..

And what a surprise they'll get when they find out that data services that were reasonable on Sprint, are now more then double with Verizon and AT&T.
...
Or the fact that no one else has WiMax and they cannot roam like they used to with EVDO.
...
There is one company in the US deploying and using wimax right now... and they are wellll ahead of sprint 🙂 Sorry guys sprints not the 1st. 🤣

Ok i'll Bite? i'm no fan of sprint, but who else has or is deploying Wimax First??

Hmmm... who would that be?

It is. He deployed WiMax in his 1 bedroom apartment with a $30 Belkin wireless router from Wal-Mart.

Clearwire has been using Wimax for several years now as have many other companies. However it is based on the fixed Wimax standard, not mobile Wimax 802.16e. But Clearwire does have mobile Wimax trials going on right now as does Sprint. Nobody has 802.16e commercially available service because Wimax wave 1 certification hasn't even begun.
...
Either way you look at at Sprint is going to hell.. I don't care if they have the best and fastest data out there, their customer service blows...
Not to mention why would you cancel your customers because they roam 50% or more of the time instead of locate the areas they are in and build some real coverage for them! Not to mention how can you have a roaming included plan and have restrictions on it?
Also to all the Sprint and Verizon customers your analog roaming is gonna be gone by 2008 followed by the TDMA network as well...
So while Verizon will boast in their commercials about getting service where most people don't... it won't last long...
...
zzzzz like isaid thats whysprint got so many cust because they great 🤣 they going head to head with a brand new company attell sprint its wack and iwork for then and my personal phone is vzw 🙄

Weird. In 5 years I can count the number of dropped calls on one hand. Not sure where you get this information.

yeah thats why verizon got more costumer the sprint good one buddy the only thin sprint got over vzw its nextel; and its because vzw dint want 2buy it sorry man 😛

HEKNOWSNOTHING actually made sense. You're getting better. lol. How is Sprint messing up, I'm curious of your thoughts.
...
That all that wild spending on Rev A, WiMax, network improvements, etc.. costs real money. Bleeding subscribers especially profitable loyal ones also costs money and it isn't endless. Investors want to see a return on their investment but not in 20 years. They just wouldn't get away with dumping billions into another "project" when many aspects of Sprint are in dire need of repair.
...
snangFeb 17, 2007, 12:28 PM
It's amazing how all these random people know the intricacies of Sprint's financial situation.
All these high school drop-outs who pretend they could do a better job running a multi-billion dollar enterprise.
Get real.

I agree. I was actually talking with HEKNOWS(nothing). What I meant he almost made sense, it was putting an actual sentence together. If you looked at his past post, it's very elementary.
...
I think he had someone else write that first post because every other post he made in this thread is nonsense. 🤣
...
YeanFeb 17, 2007, 8:25 PM
WOW! You have to spend money to make money, it may also take some risks. Wild spending?, I disagree, it's called improvement. In order for Sprint to gain in their numbers, Sprint has to do different and better. I believe Sprint is going to do something different and better. I can care less about Qualcomm's MediaFLO. I don't need MediaFLO to watch TV, I use orb.com to watch TV through my Sprint phone. Cheers. 😁
